Alternative names of antibody target:
connective tissue growth factor, CCN2 , CCN-2, CCN 2, Hypertrophic chondrocyte-specific protein 24
Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-CTGF polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.
Recommended usage:
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml). Per researchers feedback, it also works well in Immunohistochemistry (10-20 µg/ml, frozen and paraffin sections). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.
Background information:
CTGF (connective tissue growth factor) is a cysteine-rich, secreted peptide. It is a new member of the peptide family that includes serum-induced immediate early gene products, a v-src-induced peptide, and a putative proto-oncogene. Among the many functions of the CTGF gene family are embryogenesis, wound healing, and regulation of extracellular matrix production.
