Description
The TGF-alpha Antibody is a α- or alpha protein sometimes glycoprotein present in blood.
Tested applications:
ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistology (IH)
Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by MBS Monoclonals they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
Storage and shipping
Store the antibody at +4C. Temperature variations in the range of 1 to 7 degrees Celsius are tolerable. We recommend NOT to freeze the antibody. Antibody is stable for 24 months.
Other names
protransforming growth factor alpha isoform 2 preproprotein; Protransforming growth factor alpha; protransforming growth factor alpha; TGF-alpha; transforming growth factor, alpha; EGF-like TGF; ETGF; TGF type 1
Species reactivity
Human (Homo sapiens), Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), Zebrafish.; Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
Specificity and cross-reactivity
This antibody reacts with the TGF alpha and shows no cross-reaction with EGF and the neuropeptide synenkephalin. The staining with this MAb is completely blocked by the peptide used for raising this antibody. TGFalpha (aa50) is a growth factor with 33% homology to EGF, binds to EGFR, activates tyrosine phosphorylation of the receptor, and stimulates cell proliferation. It plays a role in tumor initiation by inducing the reversible transformed phenotype.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
